A house is not a home

Mama Shark was abandoned at PAWS Atlanta with her kitten, whom we named Baby Shark. Understandably, she needed some extra TLC and time to decompress. Haley, a foster volunteer, stepped up to give Mama Shark a few weeks of peace and quiet in her home. She recently shared an update on their time together.

“I brought Mama Shark (now Goose) home as a foster on October 1st. Even though I thought I would bring home a kitten, I was drawn to her gorgeous green eyes and dilute tortie coloring. When we got home, she immediately went and hid behind my gray fridge. She was nervous and spent a lot of time behind the bookshelf, too. Very jumpy at first, she slowly began to come out of her shell. Soon, I was getting morning and evening biscuit deliveries in bed, even though she was still sleeping downstairs. I learned that she loves playing with wand toys, so we make time for that and have a few flying sessions every day. Fast forward almost exactly a month and she greets me at the front door when I get home, and follows me from room to room. She's snuggly and sweet and just perfect. I'm so glad I took a chance. I'd been without a cat for a while and I forgot how much they fill a house with love, cuteness, and just such a sweet lively presence. Welcome to your forever home, Goose!”
