Meet Rachel Proctor

PAWS Atlanta Board Member

We've welcomed several board members to our team recently, and we're excited for you to get to know them. They each bring an important and unique skill set to PAWS Atlanta. We know you'll love them just as much as we do!

This month, we're introducing you to Rachel Proctor. Rachel has been involved at PAWS Atlanta for a while and first got involved as a volunteer. Though her type of support for our animals has changed over time, she's still just as passionate about rescue as she was on day one.

Why did you decide to join the PAWS Atlanta Board?

I had a great experience with fostering and volunteering with PAWS Atlanta when we lived in Decatur. We relocated to Marietta, but I still wanted to be involved, even if it wasn’t on-site as often. When I saw a call for board members, I jumped on the opportunity. The organization is one I can be proud to be aligned with.

What type of work do you do outside of PAWS Atlanta?

I work in human resources, specifically employee engagement, with the railroad. As of August 1st, I’ll be transitioning to our labor relations group, working with our agreement (union) employees.

What do you like to do in your free time? Any hobbies?

I am an avid reader and have a home library. I also love art, watching sports, exploring hiking trails, and taking classes at the gym.

Tell us about your pets and your family!

We have 2 dogs, Hans & LB. Hans was adopted from DeKalb County. He had been hit by a car and had a broken leg and bad road rash when we met him. LB is a foster fail from PAWS Atlanta. She was abandoned at the gate in the middle of the night and the staff went out and scooped her up. She’s the sweetest!

Anything else you want to share about you?

Hans has a TikTok with over 41k followers! @hansandfriends. He also has an Instagram @hans_and_friends. They are both meant to promote bully breed positivity and adoption in Atlanta.
