Meet Uren Patel

PAWS Atlanta Board Member

Uren Patel recently joined the PAWS Atlanta Board of Directors, and we're honored to have him on our team. He brings a wonderful skillset as well as a deep passion for rescue animals. Welcome, Uren!

Why did you decide to join the PAWS Atlanta Board?

I joined PAWS Atlanta because of their commitment to being a no-kill shelter and providing basic training to enrich the lives of their animals until they find loving homes. Their mission aligns with my values of compassion and kindness. My wife and I are very passionate about rescuing dogs so they can have a safe home where they can live out their lives with a loving family. I am excited to be a part of this organization and make a positive impact on the lives of these animals and our community.

What type of work do you do outside of PAWS Atlanta?

I am currently a Director of Strategic Initiatives and the Chief of Staff to the Vice Chair for Growth and Strategy at KPMG LLP.

What do you like to do in your free time? Any hobbies?

My wife and I enjoy spending time with our two rescue fur babies and seeing new bits of their personality coming out each and every day. I also enjoy playing golf as well as spending time outdoors walking the Beltline during the weekends.

Tell us about your pets and your family!

I have been married for a little under three years to my wife, Lauren. We are fortunate to have adopted three senior chihuahuas since we have been married. Our first little one, Cannoli, came to us as a 16-year-old sassy lady who provided us with a type of love we did not know we needed. She unfortunately passed away in May, but her memory will live on forever with us. In July, we wanted to open our home to a mother and daughter bonded pair – Baci and Biscotti (we love a good Italian dessert theme!). They have helped us fill that Cannoli-sized gap in our hearts by being two spunky gals who constantly keep us on our toes.

Anything else you want to share about you?

I was born and raised in the Atlanta area and currently live in Midtown. I am also on the Board of Directors for Tapestri, which is a non-profit dedicated to ending violence and oppression in immigrant and refugee communities. By being part of PAWS Atlanta and Tapestri, I hope to help make an impact in my community and grow awareness for both organizations across the city.
