Schnitzel arrived at PAWS Atlanta's front gate one evening in July of 2023. He met our team with a huge smile and a wagging tail. The white patch on his muzzle was irresistible, and we felt confident he would find a home in no time. He settled into the shelter as well as any dog can, and especially enjoyed running around in our off-leash areas. 

Months passed, and we introduced Schnitzel to several potential adopters, but no one wanted to take him home. He needed a home without kids but did well with other dogs and absolutely loved meeting new people. We knew his people were out there somewhere. He was too perfect to spend his days at the shelter, but he still sat waiting for a new home.

In August of 2024, though, everything changed for Schnitzel. Someone wanted to meet him, so he put on his very best smile. His new mom couldn't resist his sweet, handsome face and knew she had found her best friend. Schnitzel went to his new home that day and has never looked back.

His mom recently sent us an update, saying, "He’s been perfect! I think we are absolutely the best fit for each other." His full name is now Winston Schnitzel and he loves being called "Winnie." He loves going on walks with his mom, her boyfriend, and her boyfriend's dog to explore the neighborhood. He also loves sitting on her porch to keep watch, with his stuffed toys on his comfortable bed of course.
