A touching surprise

Mia Deng, a PAWS Atlanta foster, adopter, and incredible muralist pulled off the most touching surprise this month. She spent weeks secretly painting this mural at the entrance to our walking trail. It is in memory of Erin Scranton, the little sister of Beth Galvin (the hilarious and dedicated volunteer who does so much for PAWS Atlanta, including running our Instagram account). 

Mia poured over Erin's Instagram account looking for the creatures and flowers she loved most. She featured her beloved Westie Tex and the mushrooms Erin adored. After somehow keeping Beth away from the mural, Mia and the PAWS Atlanta team surprised her. Erin loved animals and devoted the last decade of her life to raising service puppies. She loved and supported the work PAWS Atlanta is doing to better the lives of 1,000 at-risk homeless animals each year. Mia captured the essence of Erin's huge heart.

We hope Erin's spirit will make our guests, volunteers, and staff smile. THANK YOU, Mia. We are blown away.
