Fostering makes a huge difference in the lives of our animals, especially those who have spent a long time at the shelter. To give some of our dogs an extra boost, we've started the Unicorn Foster Program, finding our unique pups the perfect place to learn more skills and prepare for an adoptive home.

What is the Unicorn Foster Program?

Jointly led by our Foster Coordinator, Christa Murray, and our Trainer and Behavior Consultant, MarLee Thompson, the Unicorn Foster Program aims to find foster placements for dogs who have special behavior needs in a future home. 

How does it work?

After you apply, you'll meet with MarLee at PAWS Atlanta to choose the dog that best suits your home environment and lifestyle. Unicorn Fosters receive unlimited behavior support, including management recommendations and training resources tailored to fit the dog's needs. You will also receive:

• All necessary supplies for daily care, enrichment, and training!
   
• Private training appointments with MarLee at PAWS Atlanta or virtually (training appointments are optional, not a requirement!).
   
• Prizes and perks to celebrate milestones achieved by you and your Unicorn!

How do I get involved?

Fill out our foster application, and check "yes" on the final question when asked about an exciting program with our dog trainer. When our Foster Coordinator reaches out to schedule your home inspection, she will discuss the program in more detail with you.
