Simple things often make a huge difference in our ability to provide care for our shelter animals, and the generous folks at the Banfield Foundation® provided needed items for our team. They recently awarded PAWS Atlanta a grant to purchase a much-needed, new surgical sink and surgical instruments to provide top-notch medical care for our shelter pets.

 

Years ago, when the PAWS Atlanta team was setting up the veterinary surgical space, a basic utility sink purchased at a home improvement center was installed and has been used ever since. It was old, outdated, and did not meet our surgical needs. Our new sink set up includes a surgeon scrub sink, a gooseneck faucet, and a foot action valve that allows our veterinarian team to turn the water on and off with their foot to create a sterile environment for surgery. Replacing broken surgical instruments will also be vital to performing various needed surgical procedures.
