Duncan found his forever home with Kate in December of 2020. He was a little shy at first, but has blossomed into the perfect companion. Now, he's loving life with his new mom and dog sister! Kate reached out to PAWS Atlanta to let us know how things are going with Duncan, and we just had to share.

1. Why did you decide to adopt your pet?

I adopted my cat, Frodo (PAWS name Bruno), in the fall 2005, and he was a great companion to both me and my dog, Ellett. Unfortuately, Frodo passed away unexpectedly in October 2020. I had not planned to adopt another cat, but Ellett had a hard time adjusting to not having a friend to keep her company every day. Once she chewed up the couch a month after Frodo passed, I realized it was in my best interest to find her a new best friend quickly!

2. How is your pet doing now?

​​Duncan is wonderful! He's the sweetest boy, loves everyone, and is obsessed with his dog sister, Ellett. 

3. What was Duncan's personality like when you first adopted him, and what is his personality like now? How has he changed during his time with you?

Duncan was extremely chill when I met him. He walked right into the carrier when I adopted him, and only meowed once on the ride home. After a few days, his playful personality came out, and he made himself at home!

4. Do you have any other pets? If so, what is their relationship like with them? 

Duncan and Ellett are completely wrapped up in each other. They constantly play together and follow each other around. I'm fairly certain that Duncan thinks he's a dog. 

5. What activities does Duncan enjoy?

Duncan LOVES to play with Ellett. He'll try to steal her toys and chase tennis balls around the house. He also enjoys supervising the neighborhood, which involves him keeping a close eye on everyone's activities whle he hangs out on the balcony.  

6. How does your pet show that they love you?

Duncan loves to snuggle, both with Ellett and with me. He'll sit in my lap when I'm reading, and likes to sit on my desk to "help" when I work from home. 

7. What do you love most about Duncan?

He's just the bestest boy. Duncan joining our little family was seamless--it was as if he was destined to be with us. I'm so grateful to PAWS Atlanta for taking such great care of him and allowing us to be together!
