One of the Crew
Janga, formerly Enid, was one of five kittens in our Addams Family litter. Mama cat, Morticia, was just a kitten herself when she gave birth at barely a year old. Her babies are all so feisty, playful, and adorable, and we couldn't wait for them to all get adopted. Janga was one of the first to find her new home, and she is totally thriving! We reached out to her mom to ask a bit about how she's doing, and this is what she had to say.

Why did you decide to adopt Janga?
I don't think we pick our pets, I think our pets pick us. I lost my furry soul mate last September and have been volunteering at PAWS Atlanta since November. I wanted to be able to give love to the cats waiting to find their forever homes. I knew one day I would find a new fur baby to welcome into our family and I was sold on it being a boy cat, like the others we have. Janga apparently had a different idea! There wasn't one particular thing that made me know she was "the cat". I just knew at the end of our volunteer hours that day after spending some time with her. I kept worrying that someone was going to walk in and adopt her, I knew I had to be the one to take her home. Now, Janga is doing amazing! She fits right in to our family: full of energy and love.
How is Janga's relationship with your other pets?
We have two other cats: Bosco, a 13-year-old Mainecoon and Alderaan, a three-year-old cat who we rescued as a kitten. They are getting along well so far. We also have a leopard gecko, Nova, but Janga will have to wait until she's a littler older to meet her.
What kind of activities does Janga enjoy?
Janga loves to play with her fly feather toy. She is so fast for such a little kitten, and jumps incredibly high into the air. It's hilarious to watch! She also loves her circular scratching post that has a ball inside of it to bat around.
How does Janga show her love?
Janga will run to me whenever I call her. She headbutts me, which I LOVE because my previous cat, George, was the only other cat who ever did headbutts. Janga is also a pro biscuit maker.
What do you love most about Janga?
Janga is a tree-dweller, so she loves to jump up to my shoulder and just sit there. She has even fallen asleep on my shoulder when I'm walking around with her!
