Dreams Do Come True

Little Lady Trembles living out her fairytale

Many of you likely remember Trembles - she's a hard lady to forget. She was abandoned in our parking lot one evening, and we immediately knew there was something different about her. After her intake exam, we realized that her back legs were paralyzed. Knowing that she would need extra care, there was always a worry in the back of our minds about how long it might take for her to find the right home.

During her stay at PAWS Atlanta, Trembles learned how to use her very own wheelchair. Ultimately, she wasn't a huge fan of it and preferred to scoot around at her own speed. We saw how resilient she was as she adapted. She became one of our longest resident cats, staying at PAWS Atlanta for two years. We knew her special needs would take a special person willing to go above and beyond, and Trembles was okay waiting for the right match.

While Trembles waited, she stayed with her foster dad, Dustin, who also uses a wheelchair. The two really bonded and Dustin saw a lot of himself in Trembles. In a video featuring a few of our animals, Dustin says,"She's someone so special and so adorable and just wants to be like every other kitty...just like me!" But, as a foster parent, Dustin couldn't keep her forever. Luckily, though, her forever home was just around the corner.

When Danielle met Trembles, it was love at first sight. Trembles was so ready to have a forever home, and Danielle was more than willing to provide Trembles with everything she needs.

Today, Trembles, now known by her proper title of Little Lady Trembles, has her own Instagram account (@little.lady.trembles), a cat brother, and every toy she could possibly want. She's also a big city girl, living in New York! We talked with her mom, Danielle, to get a few updates about Little Lady Trembles' adventures.

Danielle is 28 and the sole caretaker of Trembles (and her brother). While attending university, she couldn't have a pet, but once she graduated, settled into a home, and got her feet under her, she felt it was time to adopt. Danielle says that Trembles has been the perfect little companion-buddy ever since! Here's our interview with Danielle, all about Little Lady Trembles living the good life!

Why did you decide to adopt Trembles?

I decided to adopt Little Lady Trembles because of her precious face, sweet demeanor, and ambitious personality. She showed me love immediately and I knew I was meant to care for this sweet little one.

How is she doing now?

Little Lady is doing great! She's comfortably the nonchalant queen of any space she occupies. She adjusts to just about any environment, she's always loving towards people (even nudges for head rubs, lol) and gets along with other cats.

Do you have any other pets? How is Trembles' relationship with them?

Little Lady now has a brother by the name of Sebastián Henry George, and she enjoys his company. She has traveled with me and enjoyed meeting my friends' cats as well. She acts like she owns any place, with no limit!

What kind of activities does she enjoy?

Trembles enjoys taking naps, cuddling under blankets with her mommy, getting head rubs, and playing with her many toys. But mainly taking naps!

How does Trembles show her love?

Little Lady shows her love and appreciation by following me around the house every day, greeting me when I come home, and laying/cuddling with me. She gives me kisses (licks) and trusts me to care for her!

What do you love most about Trembles?

I love how unstoppable and loveable Little Lady Trembles is. Each day Little Lady showcases that she's just as capable as the next cat. I admire her confidence and assurance of herself. I truly appreciate how loveable and trusting Little Lady Trembles has been towards me. She always shows me love and appreciation for our union.
