LJ (previously LL Drool J) arrived at PAWS Atlanta when he was surrendered by his previous owner. He didn't miss a beat, though, and was ready to make new friends with the shelter staff right away. No one could resist his little nose spots and white socks. He tested well with other dogs and loved everyone he met. So, we were surprised when he continued to wait month after month to find a home. But after being in the shelter for nine months, all his dreams came true!

Since December, he's been loving life with his new dog sister. His mom sent us a sweet update, and we couldn't resist sharing it.

Why did you decide to adopt LJ?
We have been searching for a while for the perfect dog that would fit in with our whole family, and LJ checked all the boxes.

How is LJ doing now?
He is doing amazing! He listens well and is very playful. He was the missing piece to our family.

Do you have any other pets? How is LJ's relationship with them?
We have another dog named Nala. They love each other, and she treats him like her own child sometimes. If he gets too rowdy, she’ll let out a single bark, and he’ll straighten up and go find a toy to play with. She keeps him in line. They love to snuggle and are inseparable.

What kind of activities does LJ enjoy?
He loves venturing all around our backyard, jumping off things at full speed with his legs tucked in like he’s Superman, and playing tug-of-war with Nala.

How does LJ show his love?
He loves to give kisses, jump on your lap, and cuddle.

What do you love most about LJ?
LJ has been the perfect fit for our family. We love seeing both LJ and Nala so happy! Our favorite thing is when we praise him telling him he’s a good boy - he runs full speed and jumps in the air, all paws off the ground. There's never a dull moment at home.
