It was one o'clock in the morning when Smokey was left in the PAWS Atlanta parking lot. She was laying on a balled up comforter with no leash to keep her safe. Our team rushed to bring her to safety, and she came right up to us, as if she knew she was safe.

Smokey charmed everyone at PAWS Atlanta. At 10, she moved a little slower but she still had more than enough playful energy. She loved everyone she met, and we were hopeful she would find a loving home soon. Two staff members brought her home to foster come, as kennel life can take a toll on a senior dog. Smokey fit right in and loved snuggling up with cozy blankets.

Smokey eventually met one of our long-time volunteers with a soft spot for senior dogs. She brought her home on a trial basis and realized quickly Smokey was a keeper. Smokey now has 2 dog siblings, and they love going on walks together. She spends much of her time staying cozy and taking naps in the sun. Smokey finally has the home she deserves!
