Pup Left Behind Gets a Second Chance

Our team found Sunday loose in our parking lot when they arrived for work early one morning. She was in the middle of severe labor complications, and we knew we had to act fast. She was clearly in a lot of pain, and we have no idea how long she had been in labor before arriving at our shelter. Fortunately, a staff member rushed her to the emergency vet, where they saved Sunday's life. She would not have survived without emergency surgery. Her three puppies, sadly, did not make it. 

Sunday's surgery cost $3,000, and it's one of many unplanned expenses that add up to tens of thousands of dollars per year. Each time our animals face medical challenges, we are able to cover critical care and orthopedic surgeries, because of your big heart. However, we can’t continue to save animals like Sunday without your help.

Sunday is now spayed and recovering in the comfort of our Executive Director's home, where she will likely be a permanent fixture. That lost look in her eyes is already beginning to fade as she realizes she's safe, wanted, and most of all, loved.
