The perfect team

We were so sad when our sweet senior girl, Daisy, was returned to PAWS Atlanta after being in a home for four years. We really should not have worried too much for her. When Joe, our Executive Director, saw this sweet senior girl on Christmas Eve, he knew the perfect person for her!

Kathy, one of our most ardent supporters, lost her dear poodle, Annie, earlier last year. The year continued to bring bad news and she was devasted when Dottie, the feral cat she had been caring for over the years, ran away. Losing your beloved pets is always heartbreaking, but Kathy's loneliness and heartbreak was exacerbated because of the pandemic.

Joe called Kathy to see if she might foster, and she said yes without hesitation. He brought Daisy to meet Kathy just hours later so neither of them had to spend Christmas Eve alone.

Kathy has been a constant and generous supporter of PAWS Atlanta, sponsoring events, coming through for us in times of crisis, bringing our pets food, treats, toys, and newspaper to line their kennels. This fantastic human being is the embodiment of rescue, and we would not be the organization we are today without her.

It did not take long at all for Kathy to determine that Daisy was not a foster pup but a family member.  Daisy now has an amazing mom, and we have cried tears of happiness knowing our sweet Daisy girl will have the absolute best retirement possible. Kathy and Daisy have so much love to give. Together, they are the perfect team to spread compassion and kindness to animals and people everywhere. And now, instead of signing her name Kathy at the end of text messages or emails, she signs: Love, Kathy and Daisy.
