The Power of Sailor Mars

A Magical Transformation

Sailor Mars, six, has spent most of her life in a shelter or in a foster home. She arrived at PAWS Atlanta in 2016, when she transferred in from a county facility. Growing up in a shelter, she didn't have much in the way of manners at first. She'd never had a family and had a lot to learn. Sailor Mars was adopted after a few months at PAWS Atlanta, but her fear and anxiety proved to be too much for her new family. So, she came back to PAWS Atlanta, still hopeful to find the right fit.

Several years later, Sailor Mars has been in foster with a dog trainer and has made huge strides! She's learned that people can be trusted once she gets to know them. Her foster mom, Laurel, has worked with her on muzzle training, which has made a big difference. Sailor Mars loves her muzzle! She knows putting it on means she gets to go on an adventure. She's very smart and enjoys her training games. She loves car rides, hiking, toys, and anything that activates her big ol' brain. Sailor Mars is ready to learn everything she needs to know to be the Best Good Girl she can be - she just needed someone to show her the way.

Sailor Mars still struggles with anxiety, especially around storms, new people, and other dogs. There's a lot out there in the big world, and she's not sure about all of it yet. But the wonderful improvements she's made with Laurel show just how ready this girl is to settle into a home for good. With extra consistency, patience, and love, Sailor Mars will be ready to fill your life with magic. She would like to be an only child and would do best in a home with an experienced dog owner who can help her continue to learn.
