Turkey and Bologna's Story

From Forest to Foster

This house panther duo has had a difficult year. Their history is a bit of a mystery, but here's what we do know: they were abandoned by their previous owner. Turkey and Bologna were found in the woods all alone with a litany of health issues. However, they're sweet as can be and very affectionate with humans, which means they've known the comforts of a home before. We believe they were probably put in a carrier and carted to the woods, then left outside to fend for themselves. When they first arrived at PAWS Atlanta, Turkey had a wound on her back that was struggling to heal, likely due to being dragged by something. Bologna had a terrible tooth and gum infection and an upper respiratory infection. Our veterinary team immediately started treating them, so they could heal as quickly as possible.

After only a day at the shelter, they found a foster home with one of our team members. Now, they have their very own room, and they love lounging and watching out the window. Turkey's back is almost healed, and, though he only has three teeth left, Bologna is on the mend with antibiotics. They're huge fans of mealtime and LOVE snuggles. Their foster parents say that "The Delis" (as they're affectionately called) will hop right into your arms and snuggle as close as they can. It's as if they're making up for lost time by absorbing all of your love.

These two are such a sweet pair, and we're amazed at how sweet and loving they are after all they've been through. It's hard to say how old they are, but we're guessing around five years. Turkey especially has started coming out of her shell and is obsessed with mouse toys. Bologna mainly just wants head pets and wet food. The Delis have survived so much together, and we would love them to get adopted as a pair. They deserve the world, and we can't wait for them to find the perfect forever home.
