Louie's Comeback

A Story of Second Chances

Georgia, a young pregnant mom, arrived at PAWS Atlanta all alone. Not long after arrival, she gave birth to 10 healthy puppies, one of which was Louie! Louie (previously named Ohio at PAWS Atlanta) grew strong and healthy along with his siblings. Once he was ready for adoption, it didn't take long for someone to scoop him up. Who could resist his spotted nose? However, he was soon returned back to the shelter, as he wasn't getting along with the existing dog in the home.

Louie waited patiently for another family - someone who would give him all the care and love he deserved. Life at PAWS Atlanta was essentially all he had known, and our team wanted him to be able to enjoy life outside of the shelter. After a few months, someone else was finally interested in meeting Louie. They saw what a good dog he was and brought him home to stay.

Now, Louie is nine and a half years old and still living his best life. He even boards with the family of one of his biological siblings when his family goes out of town! His dad says, "Louie is doing great. He’s great with people and pretty much only wants to chase a ball at all times." While we wish Louie could've had a better start to life, it's clear that everything worked out perfectly. He's spent many years being doted on and continues to enjoy life with his family as a senior pup.
