It Takes Two

Squidward and Patrick's Story

Patrick (previously Megatron) arrived at PAWS Atlanta at only three weeks old. He'd been found on the hot sidewalk in the August sun all by himself. He was dehydrated and lethargic, but we could tell he was a spirited little guy. After a few days of fluids and rest, he turned into a silly, spunky kitten. He grew bigger every day, thriving despite his rough start. He went to a foster home with a PAWS staff member, and often came to the shelter during the work day to play with the team. He even went viral on TikTok! Before long, it was time for Patrick to head to the Cat Cottage. He had become a team favorite, especially to his foster mom, and we were all excited for him to finally find a forever home.

Sharon came to PAWS because she was looking for a friend for her cat, Squidward. Squidward was adopted from PAWS back in 2023. He arrived at the shelter as part of a litter of kittens who had been found outside. Squidward had been adopted but later returned when his adopter's housing situation changed. In the end, he'd found the perfect home with Sharon. As Squidward grew, Sharon could see that he wanted a playmate. When she entered the Cat Cottage, she immediately fell in love with Patrick's social demeanor. He seemed to be playful and fun, a perfect friend for Squidward.

Patrick and Squidward are now living the best life together, so loved by their mom, and having a blast playing with each other. Both boys were born on the street with their future unsure, but things have only gotten better and better. They've grown so much and spend plenty of time zooming around the house together. Patrick recently celebrated his first birthday, and his mom made him a little birthday hat to celebrate. While he wasn't a huge fan of wearing it, he did enjoy batting it around! His mom sent us an update, telling us just how happy these two are and how much she loves them. Nothing makes our team happier than a wonderful adoption story, nothing except for a double adoption!
