Sweet Pea was found hiding under a tarp on the front porch of a cabin. She had been injured in an animal attack. Thankfully, a good citizen rescued her and brought her to PAWS Atlanta. We knew she was a keeper as soon as we met her.

Sweet Pea endured multiple injuries and was suffering from heartworms. She was a trooper through multiple rounds of treatment and grew stronger and more resilient by the day. Now, Sweet Pea makes friends with everyone she meets! Despite all the hardships she’s been through, she is a gentle, loving, sweet dog.

Several months after arriving at PAWS Atlanta, Sweet Pea got her second chance – our gregarious little survivor found a family!

Two years later, though, our hearts sank when we got a call. Her family was no longer able to take care of her. We welcomed Sweet Pea back with love, but she was extremely bonded to her mom, and we had to pull her away when it was time to say goodbye.

Sweet Pea took time to recover, but she’s the still same resilient and loyal pup we met a few years ago. All she needs is the kindness of one person who could change everything.
