It is amazing what happens when times become difficult and people come together to help one another. Everyone at PAWS Atlanta is incredibly grateful to the amazing foundations that did just that to make a difference for animals in need. First, a big shout out to Maddie’s Fund®, a national family foundation established by Dave and Cheryl Duffield to revolutionize the status and well-being of companion animals. They provided us with a grant to purchase much-needed foster care supplies. We were running low on harnesses, leashes, and food bowls, and thanks to Maddie, we have been able to restock these critically-needed items for animals in foster like Ranger (pictured to the left).
Another big shout out to The Banfield Foundation for donating 920 doses of FirstShield flea products. Wow! What a great surprise and they are always so good to us. The doses will be given to families and individuals in need through our Pet Food Bank. And the folks at Adopt-a-Pet.com also made us smile when they awarded us a "Seresto Circle of Love by Bayer" grant including 126 Seresto collars for dogs and cats to keep our pets healthy and happy by preventing diseases spread by fleas and ticks.
Finally, another big thank you to Best Friends Animal Society for awarding PAWS Atlanta a Rachael Ray Save Them All COVID-19 Relief Grant. They wanted to make a difference for organizations by helping to alleviate challenges associated with the COVID-19 pandemic. We’ll be using the funds to purchase doses of Revolution topical, as well as prescription diets for our special needs dogs and cats at the shelter.
