Meet Katie Beacham

PAWS Atlanta Board Member

Katie has been involved with PAWS Atlanta for a while as an adopter and supporter, and we're now honored to welcome her to our Board of Directors.

Why did you decide to join the PAWS Atlanta Board?

I love PAWS Atlanta and have been a Guardian Angel monthly supporter for a few years. After adopting my dog Dolly (formerly known as Sami) from PAWS and getting to know her foster mom, Sam Long, who is now PAWS’ Volunteer and Database Coordinator, I knew I wanted to get more involved.

What type of work do you do outside of PAWS Atlanta?

I lead philanthropy, volunteerism, and environmental sustainability for a large law firm. I have the best job in the world - bringing the time, skills, and resources of my organization to make an impact on important social causes, and I look forward to using my knowledge in these areas to support and help others give back to PAWS Atlanta.

What do you like to do in your free time? Any hobbies?

I love traveling and any excuse to be outside. I’m also an obsessed fan of my Baylor Bears and Atlanta Braves.

Tell us about your pets and your family!

My crew is currently comprised of three rescue dogs - Griffin is a 10-year-old black lab/boxer mix, Dolly is a four-year-old pittie mix adopted from PAWS, and Rosie is a five-year-old coonhound/bloodhound mix. They keep me entertained and on my toes. I come from a long line of dog people (with all due love and respect to cat people!), and I’ve had a dog every day of my life. Pets are such a gift and an important part of my well-being.

Anything else you want to share about you?

I was born and raised in Georgia, and I’ve lived in Atlanta for 19 years.
