Typical group volunteer projects:
- Landscaping
- Spreading mulch
- Painting
- Small building projects
- Nature trail maintenance
- Cleaning and drying kennels, crates, and other shelter areas
- Sorting animal crates, food, leashes, and toys
Group guidelines:
- All volunteers in the group must be over the age of 18.
- For the most meaningful volunteer experience, group volunteer opportunities are available for organizations and community groups of varying sizes.
- A minimum group donation of $250 is required, with larger groups subject to additional donation levels based on group size and volunteer needs. These contributions help us provide food, medical care, enrichment, and shelter for the animals in our care while they wait for loving homes.
- Information on your group's donation amount and how to complete it will be provided once your volunteer opportunity has been confirmed.
- Most group volunteer projects last approximately 2 hours. Extended volunteer opportunities, such as Impact Days, may be available upon request. Volunteer opportunities are offered Wednesday through Saturday, based on availability, between 10:00am and 4:00pm.
- Don't forget to wear closed-toe shoes and clothes that are okay to get dirty.
- The majority of volunteer work is done outside and will need to be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather.
- Carpooling is encouraged as parking is limited.
- All volunteer work will be done onsite at our shelter (5287 Covington Highway, Decatur, Georgia 30035).
- All group volunteering opportunities include spending time with our dogs and cats.
Can't come in person?
Even if your group can't be onsite, you can help our animals by hosting a supply drive. PAWS Atlanta is always in need of donated goods like blankets, towels, and newspaper, as well as supplies such as dry dog and cat food. Check out our Wish List for more ideas!
